MONTH IN REVIEW:

The new Gonzales County Sheriff's Office Administration began the year 2021 at full speed ahead! Since January 1st, the Sheriff's Office has delivered on some goals set forth to accomplish the mission of combating drugs and other criminal activity.

The office is happy to announce a few accomplishments completed within the first month in office! They are the following:

1. On January 4th, 2021, a member of the K-9 Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop near mile marker 644 on IH-10, for a traffic violation. A probable cause search resulted in the discovery of 0.055 ounces of marijuana and the confiscation of two handguns.

Marquise G Washington, 21, of Houston, Tx was subsequently arrested for Possession of marijuana <2 OZ and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon.

2. on January 9th, 2021, a member of the Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of Sarah Dewitt for a traffic violation. A probably cause search resulted in confiscating 0.575 ounces of marijuana and a handgun.

Narcisco Diaz-Huerta, 24, of Houston, Tx was arrested for Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon and Possession of Marijuana <2OZ.

3. On January 10, 2021, a member of the K-9 Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop on US HWY 183 and CR 261, for a traffic violation. A probable cause search resulted in the confiscation of 0.25 ounces of marijuana, and the recovery of (2) handguns and (2) rifles.

Christopher Zuniga, 20, of San Marcos, Tx, Kylan McEachem, 21, of Austin, Tx, and Marcos Hernandez, 28, of Shiner, Tx were arrested for Possession of Marijuana <2OZ, Tampering with Evidence, and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.

4. On January 12th, 2021, a member of the patrol division conducted a traffic stop on West HWY 90 for a traffic violation. A consent search resulted in the discovery of 89 grams of methamphetamine.

John Russup, 58, of College Station and Dexkia Greathouse, 19, of Marion, Tx were arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance, PG1>4G<200G.

5. On January 17, 2021, a member of the Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop on HWY 80 and CR 157 for a traffic violation. A probable cause search resulted in the confiscation of 6.85 ounces of marijuana and the recovery of a stolen handgun. $298.00 was also confiscated.

Dominic Bustos, 22, of Nixon, Tx was arrested for Delivery of Marijuana <1OZ<4OZ and Theft of a Firearm.

6. On January 24, 2021, a member of the patrol division conducted a traffic stop on HWY 80 and HWY 97 for a traffic violation. A consent search resulted in the discovery of a handgun and a Tetrahydrocannibal cartridge containing THC oil. 

Bulmaro Chapa, 34, of Kingbury, Tx was arrested for Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon and Possession of Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 2 <1G.
