On January 5, 2018 the Sheriff Matthew Atkinson and the Gonzales County Sheriff’s Office sponsored the Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) training for all staff of the Gonzales Independent School District. The course was again presented by Texas Ranger Conde Benoist at the JB Wells Park Event Center. Sheriff Matthew Atkinson would like to express his thanks to Ranger Benoist, GISD Superintendent Dr. Kim Strozier, and Gonzales Police Department Chief Tim Crow for helping to coordinate this training seminar.
